About This Role
Intuitive Independence Rehabilitation Services is seeking a qualified Physiotherapist to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and clinical leadership services to a diverse caseload of clients in outpatient, inpatient, and community-based settings.
The Physiotherapist will deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, support quality assurance initiatives, and participate in mentorship, clinical governance, and professional development activities consistent with provincial standards of practice.
This role aligns with the scope of practice, education, experience, and professional competencies outlined under NOC 31202 – Physiotherapists.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Assessment and Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, including patient history, physical examination, functional evaluation, and clinical analysis
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on assessment findings and clinical best practices
- Provide physiotherapy interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, post-surgical rehabilitation, pain management strategies, and functional retraining
- Treat a broad range of conditions including orthopaedic, neurological, post-operative, musculoskeletal, vestibular, spinal, and complex rehabilitation cases
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as required, and ensure continuity of care
- Specialized and Advanced Practice Areas
- Deliver care for complex and multi-system conditions such as traumatic brain injury, spinal surgery recovery, neurological disorders, and post-acute hospital discharges
- Provide rehabilitation services in hospital, outpatient clinic, home-based, and community settings as required
- Incorporate specialized techniques including vestibular rehabilitation, dry needling (where permitted), Pilates-based rehabilitation, and post-surgical recovery protocols
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards
- Prepare clinical reports, progress summaries, insurance documentation, and discharge plans as required
- Communicate clinical findings and recommendations clearly to patients, families, insurers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, and other allied health professionals to support coordinated care
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, care planning meetings, and discharge planning processes
- Liaise with external stakeholders including insurers, community providers, and referral sources
- Clinical Leadership and Quality Assurance
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice standards within the organization
- Support mentorship and professional development of junior physiotherapists, students, and support staff where applicable
- Assist with clinical supervision, skills development, and professional guidance in alignment with organizational needs
- Professional Practice and Compliance
- Practice in accordance with the standards, ethics, and guidelines of the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education and adherence to best practice standards
- Comply with workplace health and safety policies, privacy legislation, and professional regulations
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation service delivery
- Experience working in hospital, outpatient, and community-based environments is an asset
- Experience with complex rehabilitation, post-operative care, neurological conditions, and multidisciplinary practice is an asset
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care, ethical practice, and continuous professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Credential recognition through the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR)
