Senior bookkeeper
About This Role
Schedule: 30 hours per week
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented and reliable Senior Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for full cycle bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, journal entries, and assistance with month end and year end processes. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage the complete accounting cycle from transaction recording to financial reporting
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment preparation, and vendor reconciliations
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, customer payment processing, and account reconciliations
- Perform bank, loan, and intercompany account reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, amortization, and adjusting entries
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll records
- GST/HST and other routine government returns and filings
- Assist with month end and year end closing processes
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with Canadian Accounting Standards
- Utilize accounting software and internal systems to support daily financial operations
Required Skills
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, journal entries and GST/HST filing is required
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems such as CargoWise, or similar systems is preferred
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Qualifications
- Completion of a college diploma or other post-secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant full cycle bookkeeping experience is required
- Previous experience in the logistics or transportation industry is an asset.
